Hi Guys,
I'm trying to help to friend. She have 3 year old boy and 3 years worth of pictures of him on the 3gs. Unfortunately the phone was dropped and screen was cracked (all black) she managed to put passcode lock so many times incorrectly that the device got locked.
She got screen replaced but now it says - Phone is locked please connect to iTunes. When connecting iTunes only restore is available.
The most important thing is to take those pictures of the phone!
Any thoughts what I could try to get them off the phone?
She never synced the phone with iTunes (maybe once initially not even on her PC)

I've ordered mine online but might show up. Are they handing out stuff to people in line or do you have to buy Leopard to get some of the freebies?

Reporting back for anyone who cares - the banner brought $220 on eBay. Best of all, the shipping address of the buyer was 1 Infinite Loop! :D
The poster is for sale now. We'll see how it does.

The service is great...
Its not like they require you to read all the posts or anything. I say take what you can get if its free, and don't take what you don't need if it annoys you.

how could i produce the pdf files?
Like I said: start a new thread elsewhere that's solely to do with the first part of the process, which is to take a text file, parse and process the entries within it with the appropriate delimiters... in order to produce named blank PDFs, perhaps using individual intermediate text files which you can use Automator to batch convert to PDFs.
Once that's done, come back to the Design forum if you need a hand with batch processing those PDFs from within Photoshop.

"Plays nicely with the MAC" doesn't give a lot of information about what you're planning to use to edit on the Mac.
In general, however, most cameras shoot video that is made for playback, not editing. So, if you're planning to use FCP to edit, FCP can import many different formats and convert them to formats made for editing. In addition, there are free and not-free programs that can assist in converting your camera format to an editing format.
If you can provide more information about your needs, you'll probably get more informative responses.
Good luck.

Yesterday it was working. Today when I attach the apple composite cable and switch the iPad video output to PAL I can see on the tv a picture but black and white and it is rolling over. The sound comes through fine. In the old days tvs used to have adjustments to correct for the horizontal hold, but they don't any more, but that wouldn't fix the problem as it was working fine yesterday. My wife did watch something on tv since then, but she doesn't think she could have changed any adjustments. If it matters, the tv is a Tosheba CF27G50

No. I think the 1Ghz is the better deal.
I really like the value of the 867- finally a non-crippled Pro machine at $1699 or $2699 in Canada is great. I'd wait until the next upgrade to even consider the top of the line.

The iPhone 4 was a failure at launch. The antenna is broken. It drops Internet connections and calls if held a certain. The glass claiming to be strong is weak sauce and the only good things on the phone are the cameras and screen.*
Am I the only one who feels this way?
Yes.....You are ! So what if you get a dropped call once in a while? Some people take it to far sometimes. I live in a rural area and it is rare that my Internet goes down and if it does, I just reboot it and it works !

And perhaps if iHome is ever released, it will have to be moved from the fake pages to the not-so-fake pages. ;)

I nealry lost a testicle when my wife saw the debit... but once she got to use the monitor a bit.... she was thrilled and acknowledge how much better it is then her 17 inch dell at work and praised me for making such a wise investment....
now if that does not demonstrate the quality of apple.... you should just go buy a dell!
If she was upset about the monitor, how does your wife feel about the G5 purchase?

AppCleaner will uninstall every part of a program, including the oddball things that don't get uninstalled when you drag it to the trash.
No, it won't.
Thanks!! That works awesome!!
Actually, it doesn't.
u can also use Appzapper.
That's not any better.
AppZapper, AppCleaner, CleanApp, TrashMe, and similar apps do not do a thorough job of removing all files/folders related to deleted apps. I tested several of these, using Skype as the app to be removed. Of 17 items to be removed:
AppZapper missed 13 items
AppCleaner missed 11 items
AppDelete missed 8 items
Hazel missed 9 items
I also tested AppTrap, CleanMyMac and a few others, but don't recall how many items they missed. All left files/folders behind. In most cases, they remove .plist files and a few others, but leave behind much larger files and folders. (you will find a discussion of these tests in the thread linked below)
One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=709930)
The only effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
Best way to FULLY DELETE a program (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=11171082&postcount=16)

What are some precautions I should take before selling my Air? Beyond wiping my SSD what else do I need to do to make sure my data is securely erased?
